Shit I Deleted The Monitoring Folder On My Hosted PBX

By admin On July 22, 2011 Under Call Center Philippines

The other day I was downloading the recordings from my server which I do about every day for the last 6 years and some how I managed to delete the monitoring folder where all the recordings are saved. So I contacted my pbx hosting company and they tried to help but did not have an answer because they did not have an Elastix guy on staff. I tried dicking around with it and got it almost working at least I thought and then no it was still not
working. Then I went on the Elastix forum and asked for some help and BAM a day later a guy replied to me post and solved my problem.

So this is what you have to do in case you delete your monitoring file in your hosted pbx or Elastix server.

Log in to your box with winscp or any ftp program and go through the folders like normal Var/spool/asterisk/ and where monitor was you are going to right click on the bottom of the page and then you are going to create a new folder named the same thing monitor. Once you have created it then you are going to have to right click on it and make sure it’s owner is asterisk not root or it will not work and then save it and you are good to go.

Make a couple of phone calls and see if your recordings are there.
