Elastix Hosting

By admin On January 6, 2011 No Comments

I have done a couple of blogs before on Exlastix hosting on what hosting companies are out there and what is the best but I gotta say I think I found that one that so far as had the best service and best support I have every received and they are the cheapest I have found at only $20 dollars a month and there is no set up fee and you can be up in as little as an hour.

Any one interested in signing up here is a link to there site Rent PBX

I have used about every company on the net and by far Rent PBX is the best there is best there was and best there will ever be.

PLDT Telpad Philippines

By admin On January 6, 2011 4 Comments

My wife just showed me this add for the PLDT Telpad which looks really cool, have a look. Cost around 1800 to 4100 Peso a month but comes with the free Pad which operates on the android OS so allot of great things can be done with this but whats really neat is it is your phone also and you would be able to use for VOIP or Skype to take and make calls.

I’m going to get one shortly, I think they are out on the 15h of this month but will have to wait and see.

updated, not going to get one, they want you to sign a three year contract and you have to return the Telpad when the three years is up, sounds sounds like some bull shit.

By admin On December 29, 2010 2 Comments

I just got done watching these videos and it opened my eyes even more on shit you need to watch out here in the Philippines as a foreigner.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Sounds like this guy really knows what he is doing and is connected, so I would suggest this to any one that I know at this time. I’m going to email him and see if I can meet him in person just to talk to him about what he does to under stand more.

3 Good Bars In Ortigas For Foreigners

By admin On December 19, 2010 No Comments

Maligayang Pasko Bitches

I just meet a guy named Chris at the road house yesterday, Chris is new to the Philippines so I told him some great places to go where there are Foreigners so he feel more at home and then I thought it would be a good post on places that I know are good for Good Bars Foreigners.

Sounds gay I meet a guy at a bar.

Here is a list of places that you can go that are safe and good.

1. “Chef and Brewer” In Ortigas
This is the place that we go the most from any where to 3pm to 8pm because they have a happy hours 180 for 3 draft beers that are 16 ounces, so its an ok price. The food is ok but priceee if you are on a budget, around 500 Peso for a steak but most important is the company around you, there are allot foreigners that hang out there unit around 9pm which is when the band starts. For got two things, 1 they have a nice long bar in side and 2 you can’t smoke in side. Wifi also

2. Texas Roadhouse In Ortigas
This is an American knock off of Texas Road house from the States but over all I would call it a Chili’s because its about the same everything, food ect. Nothing super special about the place other then the food is American and it is safe to eat and they got a draft beer 16 ounce for 75 Peso. I see allot of Foreigners come here I think for the food but also see allot sitting at the bar having a beer. Wifi also

3. Katzers but some of us calls it kuntzers in Ortigas
This place has really good food but prices are about the same as the states and some time maybe a little more depending on what you order. They have a happy hour from 4pm to 8pm 45 Peso per draft beer but its only 12 ounce but they have a nice circle bar where is great because everyone can talk to each other. They have a bar menu which is around 250 Peso for fish and chips but it’s not very big. No Wifi

There are allot of other bars to go to here that are great but you are not going to see every many foreigners around.

Great Bandwidth Stealer Finder Program

By admin On December 14, 2010 No Comments

The other day we were sitting at a pub here in Ortigas and the internet had been really slow as hell so we searched for a program to see what computers were on the network and we found out there was a bunch of people from outside where stealing the bandwidth. So if you want a program that will let you see who is on your network this one below is a great free one.

Here is the link to the program Angry IP Scanner

Time Converter

By admin On November 18, 2010 No Comments

One of the problems when starting a new project in your Philippines call center is figuring out what time it is where you are going to take or making phone calls. I have been using this time Converter web site for a while to make 100% sure that I have everything correct.

Software That You Can Use To Spy On Your Employees

By admin On October 20, 2010 2 Comments

Here is some thing I for got to write about, is a computer monitoring software that we have been using the last couple of weeks which has been great.

Its a company called Net Vizor This software will make everyone working for you think twice before the start surfing around on sites like facebook or youtube.

Only thing I don’t like but this software is the price because its not cheap 1 to 5 computers is $250 dollars and it just goes up from there but some thing that I would strongly suggest using if you are running an offshore operation.

New PBX Hosting Company

By admin On October 19, 2010 2 Comments

I have used a couple of PBX hosting companies over the years and have written about all of them from the good to the bad’s. All have them have been good and from what I know they are all using the same type of plat form if you look at all the sites. Now what its coming down to is pretty much price because other then that everything is the same.

To give you an Idea look at these three sites that offer pbx hosting

1. lylix which is $35.00 dollars a month with no set up fee. Great support but only over email.
2 Synapse Global is $29.95 dollars a month and a 30 dollar set up fee if month to month. Support is ok but I think its only day time so when some thing goes wrong might be able before you hear back from them.
3. Rent PBX is $20.00 dollars for the summer special with not set up fee, this is the new one that I was talking about but I don’t think it will be any different then the ones above. Support would would be the only thing that I don’t know about.

I will be changing over to rent pbx at the end of this month to give it a try but I think it will work same as the others but I will save $10 dollars a month and if you look at that over 12 months that’s $120 dollars saved.

Microsoft Philippines, NBI And Linux

By admin On September 19, 2010 No Comments

The says of using pirated software are done I would highly suggest using Linux if you can or if you have to buy windows licenses from Microsoft just to be safe. I had a friends call center that got raided about two weeks ago by NBI which is like the FBI in the Philippines and they took all of his computers because he was using unlicensed Microsoft windows xp. Then this Linux and open source has came along way over the last couple of years meaning that its getting easier to use and now with the new software called Wine you can almost run most software’s that would be comparable with the software’s that you need to use. We have been using all types of open source software for about 6 years now to get away from having to buy Microsoft products and its saved us allot of money. Really at the end of the day its not worth the time or money to get caught using these in your Philippines call center. On another note I forgot about on the Latest Linux Operating system you have any easy download and install manager, I went though it the other day because we were trying out a new soft phone called Twinkle Phone and its been working great better then some of the others that we have used.

The Linux operating system I would suggest using is PCLINUXOS so far from what I read it’s the best one for people that have been using Windows for a long time. Also there are allot of other Linux Operating systems out there that are great it’s just the one that fits you and your companies needs.
