Elasix call forwarding

By admin On May 27, 2009 2 Comments

I spent half a day trying to figure out how to set up call forwarding on my hosted Elastix box and finely got it with the masters help but on the net and even on the Elastix with out tears they could not explain it right.

Here you go!
So open your Elastix out and log in to free pbx and click on Extensions and then click on the Extension that is where the number you want to be forwarded to you is at. Once it loaded and you see everything just scroll down just a bit and look for add follow me settings. Click on that. first change the Initial Ring Time: to 15 seconds. Then look for Follow-Me List: you should see the extension in there delete it, make sure the box is empty. Now place the number in there just like you would call it from your Elastix box that was configured in the outbound routes, like 2234359586 but make sure at the end of the number you place a pound like this #, so it would look like this 2234359586#. One thing that I for got is the Ring Strategy:, you wont to set it to ringall or at least that’s what I set it to and it’s working great.

From there click save at the bottom of the screen and then once it load click the red bar at the top of the page and test it.
